Fear Driven
Law and Order: Criminal Intent, CSI: New York, Criminal Minds, and Criminal Minds: suspect behavior. These shows tend to be violent and graphic. All I want to watch on TV is shows about criminal investigation. These same shows make me very fearful, and often perpetuate stereotypes of people and cities. My understanding of these shows is they intend to make the audience fearful and this fear somehow feeds the addiction of the audience. I find myself nervous to watch the shows because of their disturbing nature, yet this nervousness is exciting and keeps me intrigued. I am setting a new goal not to bring this stress of these shows into my life for the sake of entertainment.
